It was on the 11th of June that 4 of us , Elbert Liew from USA , Steve Ling, Chiew Nip Sing  , and myself went to further up of Julau . Our main goal was to take photos of a rafting competition . We arrived there early with disappointement that we were told the authority changed the date to 15th June !! So we tolled round the place since it was the first time for Elbert and Mr. Chiew to the place. We visited an  old fort just beside the place. It was built 1935 by last Rajah of Sarawak Vyner Brooke which was then to defence against the rebellions. We were lucky that day,the fort under beautification to  construct a mini park at it's surrounding, and was openned that day,so we went into the fort to take a look round. Then we drove to Julau town, and surprised to discovered there is a new suspension bridge across sg.Marok to opposite bank of Julau. We walked across, again surprisingly met a Foochow family there ! Mr.Wong Kiong Sing and family. The scenery around was peaceful and relaxingly beautiful.......

longboats

About 3 hour drive to upper Rejang river Steve Ling , Peter Lee , and me were there to capture the attractive longboats . It's been few days away from Hari Gawai, the river transport is getting heavier there .Quite an interesting sight to see crowd of colorful longboats parking there.

Hanoi through my lens---floating trade

This simple 'shop' is common on the green water of Halong Bay.There is quite a lot of these boats shuttling through the touring ships to sell their goods mainly beers, drinking water, cigarrettes, biscults, and fruits etc.....One thing typical, this is all runned by women...
